Because of the Italian immigrants, Pizza debuted in the United States of America in the late 19th century and was first sold in cities with a bigger amount of Italian immigrants (e.g. Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, etc) in the streets of Italian neighborhoods and it didn't take too long until little cafes and grocery stores started to sell their own pizzas. In fact, soon enough, there were little restaurants that specialised in making pizzas, which were called pizzerias.picture from:
