Mauna Kea > Mount Everest

Mount Everest also goes along the names of Mount Chomolungma (Goddess Mother of the World) and Sagamatha (Forehead of the Sky).

Mauna Kea, a 1 million year old rock, volcano in Hawaii, is actually the world's tallest mountain rising about 33,474 feet (or 10,203 metres) from the ocean floor. However, much of the mountain is underwater. Land-based, Mount Everest is the highest point on Earth, standing 29,029 feet (or 8,848 metres) above ground.
