Solar Facts

You can observe more than 90% of the mass in our solar system with your eye, alone.

The bluer the star, the hotter it is. The redder the star, the cooler it is.

Solar winds travel at 1,000,000 mph when they pass Earth.

Sunspots are dark areas on the surface of the Sun. These spots are obviously colder than the rest of the Sun, averaging about 3700 Kelvin, compared to 5700 for the photosphere.
