Ancient Greeks and Their Art

Though ancient Greek soldiers did go to battles with clothing, they thought that they looked more heroic (yes, that's right – heroic)... without their clothes, so to speak ... which is why you'll see that in ancient Greek art, soldiers would usually be shown naked.

(The picture below is one of those rare sculptures with a clothed soldier.)
